Wrapped in the cerebrum of space,
contemplate
the open door next to the closed place,
each stepping stone marked
with a staircase wrapped in clouds
and an arrow pointing up;

yet like normal time and space of day,
highways ply the soft ground
and it seems only I blow the stars around.

Cornered in reality
I take a breath and feel the sucking air
coming to me
from some other place.
I take it to me like my own,
alone as star beneath the moon.

The soft purr of evening is coming now,
across the mountain it weaves its light
and pulls the curtain slowly,
slowly down the tops of trees,
still lit with fire you can see
the breeze take hold
of one last stem and then
lost in dim it is sucked in.

A canopy of clouds lit now by another fire
from streets where people play electric lights
and dance on curbs where rain once poured a river
until the sky was dry;
slowly now the music drifts from open doors
and the white milky sky comes down
and touches ground.

While the city melts into 10 o'clock,
A laugh sparks one street, then two,
where you and I and sky gather like old friends
sleepy and glad to be home again.

Hi Martie, good to see you posting. Starting your journey with an arrow pointing up you suddenly are concerned with reality and stars you claim as your own.

This is a lovely grouping of wonderment and fires of the soul as you fulfill your destiny and are at peace within yourself.

Sis...

Because we have talked,
in person, on a shared couch,
quietly,
when it comes, a long long time
from now,
that you see an arrow pointing up?

That's because I believe enough
for both of us.

Was out walking this evening and it was just so pretty out, the way the sun slept and the clouds swept across the sky.

Then to come home and find this, the combination breathes life into your poem and your poem is the perfect compliment to a winters day.

Lovely, you~

Yes, life itself is time travel.

I looked at the moon tonight.  It was a fine silver sliver of a slipper moon in a dark corner of a cold clear sky and its familiarity across the ages through countless was undeniable.

I'm simply awed at how easily this seems to flow from your mind. Incredible writing.

hey ol' Martie gal!
There can be great contentment in our life's journey or path, if we only let it be a pleasurable one
and remember to drink in the sights along the way.
Lots of good wishes for ya, Martie,
Jeff

Martie, before I click to open a Martie poem, I make sure I am seated completely comfortably because I know I am going to experience something out of this world, and I don't want anything to spoil the Martie-excellence - and I am never disappointed.  I love this poem, very especially the changing panoramas in the last 3 stanzas.
