Repost for all the loving mothers, grandmothers, young lovers etc here at Passions.
Some of us really do appreciate everything you are and stand for.

The Lady Of My Soul

From deep within her bright eyes
and in her sultry laugh
come tender soul vibrations
where spells of love are cast.
With graceful taste and wisdom
through strife or peace and hope
there lives my sweet enchantress
The lady of my soul.

Her rare and mystic mindset
a lighthouse for the truth
sends passionate love beacons
to the sea of stranded youth
With words of gathered knowledge
Inwoven in her speech
with mercy and true vision
she speaks of faith in leaps.

Her look is deep with dreaming
of a love that cancels tears.
Her eyes are filled with wonder
and unpermitted fears.
For she's come down from heaven
and all the lives she passed
are vehicles of purpose
that wait to bring her back.

And when her needed tableaux
protects her special doves
with teeming flair and purpose
she triumphs in her love.
In calm she waits out worry
when time for changing grows
and there's no other mortal
more patient with her own.

Deep in the heart of my soul
lies the jewell of her worth.
where destiny has brought her
to deal with love or hurt.
In bold and sudden fashion
she rises from the fold
to state her love with spirit
the lady of my soul.

She knows dry eyes are hiding
the feelings in this man.
while sweetness of her merit
within my pulse expands.
Her armor or her softness
both stir my mind like fire
no quick reluctant purpose
can quell my deep desire.

With cheer and expectation
and time for all things born
she heartens the disheartened
and comforts the forlorn.
She's gentle and all-seeing
and mirrors her repose
with love for curing sadness
the lady of my soul.

Her words are wonderous music
that warm like winds of spring.
And her faith is like the twilight
the end of day can bring.
Her senusous naked valleys
where sensation stirs my bones
are places where I take
the finest journey home.

And year by year she's gifted
with the will to share her source
Her love of future scanning
the path of evermore.
And back from all life's setbacks
she springs to keep me whole
with sorceries of gladness
the lady of my soul.

Sometimes reposts are a very good thing...

Difficult to write a poem that could top this, so I understand why you decided to repost. Ought to make this a tradition on the first day of each year to repost.

Psst! I still ain't gonna doit. That isn't a typo, Webster was wrong when he made two words (do it) out of one.

When early morning quietness seeps into my being
it's like I'm being hugged by everything good in the world.—August 16, 2010

That was one of the most beautiful and romantic poems I have ever read.  What a perfect woman you paint that we would all hope to be to the men we love.

Simply beautiful, Eric, and so insightful.  Me thinks the lady of your soul has given you ... soul (if that makes sense).  So glad you re-posted it.

This is such a tender loving poem.

Makes me feel good to be a woman, with all my moods and fickle ways.

It's all in the wiring, and I wouldn't have any other way.

Thanks for your gift of words, ethome~  it's a nice way to start the New year~

Dear Eric, this is truly amazing, because you show not only exquisite poetic skills, but also such intense sensitivity and understanding of the magic that resides in women (yes plural!).

Love and Happy New Year!

Hey Latearrival
Thanks for those kind upbuilding words.
Ya know, it's remains a mystery how things got so askew in the relationships between men and women. Was it because men are apparently physically stronger than women that they figured they should dominate their women.? No, it's not, because in so many ways women are so much stronger than men.
Women are not to be the oppressed victims of men who take advantage of them, mistreat them, or subject them to abuse of any kind. Instead, the married woman is to be the happy and accomplished “complement” of her husband.
So where did it all go wrong? Who knows, but it's with the deepest of respect that I think of my own mother a tender loving individual who on the other hand could scare me right out of my shoes when she wanted to be strong, then hold me to her breast and wait til everything was right between the two of us.
Then my father would back her up in her discipline decisions the same way she would back him up. He would take me fishing and hunting and I'd look up to him like he was God but he always spoke respectfully of my mother that's why it came as such a great blow to me when they split up it was devastating to a young boy. At the time I didn't know how these things could happen but today I sadly do realize why. In my opinion we're all not growing we're receeding.
But, that doesn't answer the question, where did we all go wrong?
This poem "The Lady Of My Soul" is dedicated to my wife Elizabeth who died within six months with bone cancer. She was a loving individual who cared for others and we were happy. However, married ten years we naturally had our disagreements but managed to deal with them. She's been gone now twenty years and I still wonder.

I am so sorry to hear 1. That your parents divorced and 2.That your wife died after only ten years of being together.
I have always felt my father showed so much love and respect to my mother and my two brothers and me that I grew up thinking most men were like him. He also showed his father much respect. His mother had died when he was young. I happened to meet a young man who was much like my dad and we had above all respect for each other. I would not say we had no differences,we did. Even our sense of humor was different. But we lasted happily for 47 years until Cancer took him. I have always told my sons to follow his footsteps and they all had respect for both of us. Both of my brothers divorced after about 16 or 17 years. And my three sons have also divorced. So I guess there are no answers~~
