if ritual words still hold powers
I sing these to the air
and deal the stories all way round
fairly
and with grace

I sing them as Matins and Nocturns
as a field of dusty grain
as a hollow that holds the feel of sweet
and a brook of dragonflies

I sing them as
wind on grass
blade to blade
as motes
riding a beam of yellow sunlight

yes
motes
there’s the song

a gentle back and forth
rise and fall
first one
then the other

motes
bound in warm
wrapped in each other
forgetting separate

motes

ritual words
eternal song

Very nice my friend, I could see it all...I do miss the southwest, particularly the desert country of Arizona...

This is incredibly vivid and unique phrasing that is all your own. Love your style.
