Found is assurance through certainty, simple truth
Mind often alters purity in view

Contemplation begins, thoughts manipulative in nature
A reflection not faulted, a future worth measure

Alleviate the burden, mind’s medium of choice
Imposition of effect upon thoughts seeking voice

Action void responsibility, infectious to the mind
Morals, pride and value run rampant, lost in sight

Expectation multiplies, increasingly complex a fight
Immunity out of reach, this virus with whom I comply

Reluctant addictions substitute lost self-control
Innocence affected, self-pitty, self-woe

And what is forgotten, no longer my truth
Despite changes within, still in difficulty I'm found soothed

With ease in this moment, inevitable strain lies ahead
Addicted to thought… figurative gun to my head

There are times when I wish I knew where the OFF switch was for my thoughts... but on the whole, there are worse addictions. *S* I enjoyed pondering this piece! *S*
