Some say home is a place to sleep,
a place to wake up and grow clothes.
Place shoes on feet and head to work,
or maybe other less lonely places
anywhere but here.

Some say home is a place to eat meals
before heading out for a few beers.
A place to rest your feet and watch
desperate housewives, your favorite show.

We here say that home is a place
a place for appropriate laughter
at absolutely inappropriate table talk.
A place to really breathe.

Us folks here, we say that home
home is a fridge that's open to anybody.
Home's an ever-full coffee pot
brimming with coffee and conversation.

We here, we say that home
is a door that doesn't hit you in the ass
no matter how hard you try to let it slam.
Home is a place for acceptance and love,
and you'll find plenty of it here.
