Written for our dear Diana/OwlSA and posted at her request.

Heaven has a new guide today
She greets newcomers and shows the way
To old friends who've gone on before...
See? She's waiting at heaven's door.

A beautiful horse stands at her side
With flowing mane and glistening hide
They're free from pain and earthly strife,
Enjoying so much their heavenly life.

But Daisy and Flicka cannot forget
The wonderful lady who gladly let
Them into her heart and misses them now
And it's their hope that every day, somehow

She sees something, or maybe she hears
A reminder of those she holds so dear
And knows that they are loving her still
Just as she loves them and always will.

A cloud in the sky, a beam of the sun,
A caress of breeze... you'll know which one
Is a message from them, a special gift...
A whisper of love, your spirits to lift.

Though it seems your friends are far apart
They're always with you, right in your heart
For real love knows no boundaries
And all the smiles and special memories

Wait... like Daisy at heaven's door.
May they comfort you when you're heartsore
Until the day when this earthly life ends
And you'll be reunited with your dear friends.

Such a gentle, heartwarming poem, dear Ruth. I can feel this gift of love that touches Diana's heart no doubt and the hearts of all those who will read it.

You have reached out to our dear friend so beautifully in this time of sorrow.

Love and hugs.

That is a beautifully scripted, poignant poem dear Ruth, I'm sure Diana will be

quite touched. I really feel for Diana myself. Love to you dear friend.

My very dear friend, Ruth, the tears are flowing freely again as I read your beautiful poem yet again.  Since you emailed it to me, I just keep reading it over and over and over again.  I will never tire of reading it.  I am going to print several copies, so that I can access it at any moment of any day - one to carry folded up in the pocket of my jeans, another in my handbag, another in my bedside table, and as I find more places I need it, there too.  It is beautiful, special, precious, and shows how much you know Daisy, Flicka and me inside and out.  I am sure that Daisy and Flicka and your Cosette and Boy and Mama Kitty and your Daddy’s dog, Fred were in communication with you about this, knowing your kindness and compassion and animallyness and sincere poetic talent.

Your poem means the world to me.  I haven’t the foggiest idea how to thank you for this.  I tried in my emails, but nothing worked (for me), but my consolation is that I believe that you know in your heart what it means to me – that is why and how you wrote it.

Thank you too, so very much, Ida, Margherita, latearrival, Lindsay and Kate, for loving Ruth’s poem, and Daisy and Flicka and me.

May God bless you all with great heartwarmth and happiness in this Christmas season.

Oh, and as I said in my emails to you, Ruth, this isn't a LITTLE poem.  It is a HUGE, BEAUTIFUL, COMFORTING, LIFE-CHANGING, SPECIAL, PRECIOUS, WONDERFUL poem written by a wonderful person who appears to know Flicka, Daisy and me so very, very well, even though she lives on the other side of the ocean.

Oh, Suthern One, you're a Comfort! Your words are warm, compassionate and ring so true. This is absolutely beautiful and has also brought a smile to my heart regarding my beloved pets that are now in heaven ~ probably playing with Daisy and Flicka!

Diana, I've been thinking about you and send little healing hugs across the miles every now and then...

Love to both you ladies! You're both top in my books!

Thank you all so very much. I appreciate every comment... and I know Owl does too... because every word you've left is filled with love and compassion.

If you see this and would??? Please keep my sweet Colin in your thoughts... his heart rate is sky high and I won't know if there are any treatment hopes until after we've seen the cardiologist. His appointment is Friday.
