"Wanderlust"

Deep within the dark of dreaming
As I lay asleep in bed
Ensconced in visions bright and gleaming
Moving through my head

Yet as I linger in this brightness
From outside there comes a call
Persuasive with alluring lightness
Holding me enthralled

Through my dreams it dances lightly
Laughing as it beckons me
Enticing with its movements sprightly
Steadfast in its plea

Of distant lands it sings unending
Painting vistas clear and bright
And tempts me still with words unbending
All throughout the night

A wanderlust it seems has caught me
Fast within its sordid spell
And long, it seems, this sprite has sought me
This much I can tell

Now with words both bright and tempting
How it tries to lead me on
It with subtle charms attempting
That which can't be done

For though its voice is so appealing
And its words so tempting, too
'Tis here I've found my place for healing
Lying next to you

wunderbar!

LOVE this stanza, especially...

Through my dreams it dances lightly
Laughing as it beckons me
Enticing with its movements sprightly
Steadfast in its plea
