Quiet voice
almost invocation
asking benediction,
how many years have spawned each favor,
almost lost to count
enough for me to shed all savor for the sounds,
"I know it is short notice,
but there's no one else you see."
Funny,
well perhaps not to me,
how that statement grows by leaps and bounds
hanging in emotion's vacuum,
stitch this break in thought,
tie this karmic thread,
carry off this burden,
bury off these dead,
simple supplications
echoing through time
"...there's no one else you see."

It is possible to ask too much of a person...
This is wonderfully poetic.

If I don't say it...who will?

I can't count how many times I've heard that

I imagine there will be years more
