You did not cry when monster storm
Found you at home alone
When fear gripped throat and robbed your breath
You barely even moaned

You did not cry when dark garage
Was where you had to sleep
Though you missed your cats mightily
You didn't allow weep

You did not cry when exhaustion
Made every muscle scream
You just kept climbing up those stairs
With your boxed life and dreams

You did not cry when a new friend
Turned out to be unkind
The loss was hard, but you always knew
There were more friends to find

And you won't cry because some thief
Has robbed you in this season
If you must be sniveling sap
Save tears for better reason.

Wow, dear Ruth, I feel like straightening my back to align to your strength! I love how you talk to your self and praise it for former wise reactions and invite it even in this new deplorable challenging moment to react with detachment ...

I am sorry for your sad experiences, but I sure do admire you for your wisdom and for the beauty of this poem in which you glow so brightly.

Love,
Margherita

Margherita: Thank you so much for your wonderfully kind response. *S* I feel a bit of a fraud, though. *S* It really is a kick aimed at my own pants... and I needed one to quit wallowing, get over it and get on with it. LOL As I told the friend who suggested I post it, I'm not strong... I just keep faking it, hoping someday I'll make it. *S*

It's been a tough day... thank you for making it brighter! *S*

I understand, dear Ruth, of course we can't remain indifferent when such bad events happen in our lives, it's not a sign of weakness, it's human to be sour for a while, but you have written a great piece to get yourself through ... and it will help also others to cope better!

I put the smilie in because the Christmas cap is so lovely ...

Ruth.I love your spirit. One day when you are not even prepared, something wonderful will happen. It can and does without even knowing it is in the works. Keep that smile on.It opens many doors. But the trick is to be ready when the door opens and act upon it.  Been there. love you, jo

Oh, my dear sweet Suthern One, my own heart leapt into my throat as I read of your ordeals! Ruth, I am so sorry to hear of what you have just gone through. To quote myself ~ "Earth Life Ain't Easy!"

You're more of a trooper than you think! I'd have had more than a sniffle or two if I were you!

Wrapping my arms around you,

Love,
Linda

Ruth, I seldom feel a need to argue with you, but I must insist on this point.  You are EXTREMELY strong.  Crying and talking about it to people who care is a way of healing and you know that instinctively.  We all have an obligation to heal ourselves in order to heal others, as you do so admirably.  As regards "faking it", I am sure you know the song from My Fair Lady that expresses the sentiments (I am not sure I have the words exactly right) "Whenever I feel afraid, I whistle a happy tune and the happiness in my tune convinces me that I am not afraid".  You know that instinctively too.

I was with you through every stanza of your poem, and felt for you as I have done in the real life instances that I knew of at the time.  Thank you for sharing the quiver-sensitive and beautiful poem with us.

Please pray for my darling Daisy-dog (details on Discussions).  I know you will.

Lord knows you have been tested in the last long while, but I know that you know, we are never given more than we can handle.  You will see a brighter day, and soon, and know we all are with you and care Ruth.  p.s. a lot of re-runs!

I so hope that things improve for you, Ruth.
I know how it feels to be tested and sometimes it is very hard to be strong. Sending you a warm Christmas hug.

Hi suthern,

It's okay to cry.  You've been a pillar of strength and kindness to me since we've met on the blue pages.  I think you are one terrific lady who inspires many!  Good luck to you, my friend, and keep your chin up.  Keep writing.  "I erase when I write and I write to erase".   That's my motto.

This is excellent and a keeeper!   Be well, my friend.

Owl: Sweet lady, you now have me whistling through a smile. *S* Thank you so much!!

Magnus: That hug is greatly appreciated, my friend...thank you! *S*

Mysteria: But Christmas specials are my favorite shows... regardless of how many times I've seen them. LOL However, the DISH people have been great... so I'm able to watch TV again. *S* Thank you!

Ida: I'm good now. *S* I don't feel quite as safe as I did before... but I guess being extra aware is a good thing. *S* Thank you so much! *S*

misce: You dear... you do know how to fill my heart. *S* And I thank you... so very much!!!

Tracey: Thank you so much, dear friend... I'm trying to keep both my hopes and my satellite dish high and safe from harm. *S* And if I see a ladder against my balcony, I'll push first and ask questions later. LOL

Your encouragement means the world to me... thank you! *S*
