it was always easier to play the pieces of you
when they were face up imaginations
but I knew you would be around longer
when I couldn't see all of your expressions

like the flowers and dragons on ivory
that seemed to speak of destinations beyond
just the moments we glued to stamp backs
like left over kisses kept for later on

you said you enjoyed the time we spent there
at impossible intersections, waiting for lights
that never changed but we kept our eyes on
waiting for those moments to find alignment

and then suddenly being at the end of searching
like our fingers could read the others grooves
and play them back to this time kind of musicals
and stop them for long moments on a note or sound

where the game of our hunting was never preyed on

There is such truth in this! Fantastic write in its whole. To read many times to discover all the multiple hues of color that unfold with longer observation.
