Where is my inspiration?
What happened to my Muse?
My thoughts have fled upon the wind
To chase them is no use

To flee from me, they've scattered
So distant, gone astray
And I with breathless wandering
Keep chasing them away

But should I even bother?
Or should I just let go
Allowing all I've strived to gain
To ride the wind like snow?

For often have I wondered,
These words, are they my own?
Or are they whispered in my ear
By ghosts unseen, unknown?

With inspiration fleeting
I'll know for good or will
If talent truly moves my pen
Or Fate controls my will...

AMdG,

You raise some interesting questions.  Let us know if you determine the answers. You know I tell you often that I enjoy your poetry - just thought that I'd tell you again.

Thanks again, Alison!

Though my inspiration seemed to run dry for a time, I think that I'm back on the right track now.

It just seems strange to me how, sometimes, I can write a poem and think "Whoa, where'd that come from?"  It's almost as if I'm writing some of these poems not for myself, but for someone else out there, and I'm just writing them down and getting them out to the world, so that the person that its meant for will hopefully find it someday.
