I Have Never Felt the Love

(Repost because it breaks my heart to read of so many who have not had this type of love to remember.)

I have never felt the love

That others speak about.

I do not understand the pain
Some profess that love has brought.

I never felt that type of love
But,
I have memories that speak,

Of kindness and thoughtful ways
Of rearing youngsters in those days,

Of being busy with just living
And keeping life together.

Memories of sharing thoughts,
Of tears shed,
Over loss of babies never born.

Our daughter, so bright and yet
Found life just too hard to stay.

The son who never lived
Beyond one day.

Tears of sadness and then of Happiness,
Brought on by little things.
And although I often think of all of it.

I do not dwell upon the loss
But share the memories of love.

I knew that I would find something here and I did.  There are so many good things to think about - I was telling a sister tonight how much joy I remember from our days together.  Our family fought hard and loved hard.

I like to remember the love as much as I can.

It is better to dwell on what has blessed if we can.  It's a real learning process so full of challenges.  I think perhaps we make room for blessing to bless again when we acknowlege it.  I am touched by this write, because the expectations are so joyous despite losses suffered in regard to children.  Love has a way of healing and strengthening from within it's own power in life.  It often wears many faces, some we would not have ever dreamed. One thing is certain:  it never leaves us where it finds us.

Thank you for re-posting.  I am struggling a bit with the blues this evening and this got my attention.  ~K

Thanks Bill, I hope you never become deaf and need a hearing aid, but at least she found it.

Thanks Late for popping in and I'm glad you had a laugh, a laugh is good for the soul.

Thanks Yann, you always come up with a great comment, and they are always appreciated.

Have a great day folks and take care.

Margherita,Suthern and Lindsay, Thank you. life is for the living and it is our choice if we want to live it or dwell on the past.
I have tried to live by these words. Sometimes you have to  wear a fake smile but if you do it long enough it works out for the better.  latearrival

Exhale.

Even though I am oft determined to keep to my own path, I think I would be forgiven if I follow in your footprints for a bit.

It would be natural, anyhow. Even birds flying south fly in the Vee formation--the stronger bird taking lead as the others fall in line accordingly.

I'll stop philosophizing and just thank you for your wisdom and perspective, Jo.

Much love to you. You write real.

Karen, you are too too gracious to me. I was a little Methodist kid and lived my life very carefully. I married two months before I turned 17 but I prayed all te time  that I would be a good wife and mother. Sometimes I did wonder, but I knew deep down there was another side to me and I had to try harder. I knew very young that the people we hang out with would make us or break us so I kept to tried and true friends.  All if alive are still friends. Good people. Love you a lot kid.. jo

Vandana, Ida and Naked thoughts,

Thank you so much for your kind words. I can think good thoughts but it is not always easy to live by them. I can but try and I have tried, with the help of the  memories of my Parents I mostly succeeded. As a youngster I always asked myself, when I was making choices, "What would Dad think of me" I am no angel. I am sure he was disappointed a few times but he kept his thoughts and never admonished me.
Sincerely, latearrival

Heartfelt, poignant words. And yet, you still love life and it shows! Loved this.
