I loaved a girl once, twice,
ten thousand times more
than she ever loaved me back

We ryed and ryed
it never worked out.
She wanted the wheat split-top,
but I came whole grain
and unapologetic.

I decided to make myself believe
that all I loved were her buns
and that made it easier
to turn just as sourdough
as she had always been.

It is quite unique and funny!

Wonderful wit and "ryebald" humor.  I'd take  honeybuns over sourdough anyday...

I knead to read poetry that gets a rise out of me.  You melt my crusty exterior to show the soft-as-dough interior of my heart.

Paul, your poetry makes me bake - as if you have turned my oven up to 350 degrees.  Your poetry rolls me over with awe.

Oh, but surely you both got at least a rise out of the other!
Another slice in the life of the Viking!
My advice to you is to 'roll' with the punches!
Please excuse my groaners. The hour is late and my brain is half-baked.
Be careful where you sow your wild oats!
