Come and Go Memories

As the weather chills and the nights become long,
I linger awhile in the illusion of two.
Unspoken feelings, mind traveling thoughts,
the knowing of lips, tender traces of you.

Feathered pillows that soften the restless of dreams
when dark leaves behind the silence of doubt.
Embracing the memories, the warmth of the hold
once awakening to arms that would soothe and reach out.

Awaiting the snowfall to heat up the fire
Come and go memories are filled with desire.

M

An autumn evening such as this, where I could hear the crackle of the fire, and sense the quiet first fallen snow.

The saddest word in this poem is: Illusion.
Touching, very touching.

Maureen - had to read this again, and say that I like it as much as I did when I read it for the first time. It's amazing how you take the words and intertwine them into a poem...

Bill, twice again I need to thank you for the inspiration. You always come up with such wonderful phrases.

...Now where is yours?

latearrival,  Thank you for stopping by.

Lori, Thank you, I really owe it to Bill, since my mind is not taking me to romantic places recently.

Sue, It's not meant to be sad,  just  recalling  times in the past.

Ruth, Thank you, and my thanks again to Bill who occassionally sends me some phrases.

Nice to see you back, Dixie. I wouldn't know where to start with a book.

Sharon, well we got the snow again last night but the rain following it will douse the fires~~
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

It's great to read your writing once again!  You're sooo good!  I thought this was really an interesting twist on words, "waiting for the snowfall to heat up the fire."

Things are busy and breaking in principal #11...  Not a super year, but the kids are pretty good for the most part.  Help you're doing well and having a good year, as well.
