Squeeze

sometimes before I fall asleep
I ponder all the secrets I had to keep
and wonder why I didn’t tell
pretending the ocean was in a shell
lately I seem to just toss and turn
a private hell in which I burn
finding all the rocks that are in my bed
I come undone pulled by this thread
disappointment sneaks up when begun
for all mistakes can’t be undone
advice are words easier than it appears
I just wish to crawl underneath my tears
they can’t wash away these fragile spaces
I am sad,sad,sad and hate it’s embraces

"I'm so hard to handle
I'm selfish and I'm sad."
— Joni Mitchell

You touched my heart with this one... to feel things unravel and wonder if they will ever be knit in sync again...  This poem is so human and honest.  We can't speak everything, and a conch can only hold the impressions and echoes of sussurance, not always the truth of a tempest.

Slick...

I steal the leaves from fall-red trees
knowing spring will bring them back,
turn each one into a heart
and lay a path for you to walk –
a path of inner-soul awakened,
inner-peace,
where the first thing you love
is yourself. . .
and from there
I pray all your tears will be diamonds,
and your heart sought
by all who see your sparkle.

In an age where love
is sometimes illusive and sometimes
seems just out of reach,
it's never completely gone,
because I, in my humble, crazy way,
still Love you . . . till something better
comes your way.

One more time,
look at the moon, my friend,
and see my smile…

Jimmy

This vervent poem makes me want to cry ~ and give you a loving "squeeze" and tell you that everything is going to be all right ~ which, it usually does in one way or another.

I have experienced those kinds of nights like that in the past (with the odd one creeping up on me at times).

Now, when I go to bed, I say one Big "Thank You!" for all my blessings and push everything out of my mind. I literally "Let go and let God" handle my problems. My prayers at night used to go on and on and on ~ with me thanking for this ~ praying for that...I couldn't get to sleep!

I now fall asleep faster than a church mouse during a boring sermon! lol I hit the pillow ~ say "Thank You" ~ and I'm out like a light most nights! Bed is my oasis and my time to rest, relax, and recuperate.  I don't sleep long ~ but I sleep DEEPLY. (I happen to enjoy the nights ~ and the mornings!

Sleep well, my friend! You owe it to yourself. Zzzz Zzzz

With love and compassion,
Linda

I know this feeling, Helen and don't know why it comes in waves...an overwhelming feeling of need and accomplishing that which one wishes would come easier.

I had days like this where you could have blown me over with a feather.  Those are the days strangely enough that eventually make you the strongest, and the most resilient.

There's so much sadness in your words... but there is immense beauty as well. Who among us hasn't dreamed, only to find ourselves in a nightmare instead? This reminds me so much of the picture you once used... you know the one. *S* Someday soon, I hope the ocean you hear wets your toes and tugs your skirt... and invites you to dance in joy. *S*

Yo dear Helen,

Take it easy Hon.  Forget all those mistakes that can't be undone.  There's nothing that can be done about them.  Forget them, and move ahead.

Love Bobby

It is very painful to live alone and harbor all our hurts and pains in our hearts..but to find someone that will understand and therefore know and love you is a life complete..

Your expression is beautiful Slick..

Sometimes, I read here and just want to sit down with the person who wrote the poem I just read.  We could sip some hot tea and just be silent or share some of these heart secrets.  Wish we could sit and have a cup of tea.
