In New Zealand Amongst the Ancient Trees

I
never knew
That
your presence
would be
my presents
until
that strange companion
death
with all its monstrous grace
comes on shuffling feet
Until
then
with all the lovely words unsaid
I
remain
naught but a grey shadow
on the edge of thought

tp - It is said of a certain birth sign that they can creep like grey lizards or soar like eagles. It's all a matter of choice. I guess the same applies to a "grey shadow" but, you know, one can't "tackle" something that is vague and indistinct.  Be bold and the shadow becomes likewise and then you face each other on equal ground with neither one being good or bad but part and parcel of each other.  Ok - it's early in the morning here so that's my excuse.

Good write but a sad one.
