(Sorry I haven't been around these past several weeks. I've been busy with many things, including reading deeply into Tantra, going to pujas, beginning my modeling (pictures will be featured in forthcoming posts here), trying my hand at DJing for the first time this past Sunday at the Sacred Circle Dance and volunteering to help children move to a new elementary school in light of their school being destroyed by a fire earlier this week.

The beginning of the second quarter-century of my life has been both sooooooooooooo dramatic and exciting, and I believe this poem is best representative of my first quarter-century and my rite of passage............where I yearned to have this flying feeling, and now that I've found it I'm ecstatically hitchhiking the sky. I will have my first poems for the second quarter-century of my life posted here soon, yay! )

Flying Feeling
By: Noah Eaton
4/18/07

We all want to carry the sky on our backs,
but some of us can’t find a word,
perhaps because we don’t take ourselves lightly,
stride a little too forthrightly,
but in the white noise between,
there hums a silent sermon,
promising us the moon,
beyond our trial balloons.

And some of us go flying rather than feeling,
meandering on the rims of each other,
while some of us go feeling rather than flying,
when we are all children in need of healing,
role-playing like surrogate mothers to another…

Refine my heart,
show me the sky again so to impart,
a part of me above the absolute ceiling,
let the young be sprung,
assure them that we and the stars aren’t that far apart,
so we can cultivate that flying feeling.

We all want to see the true face of the earth,
but we keep chasing those glowing hours,
we're whales and dolphins pursuing all that flies,
no matter how hard we try.

And some of us go flying rather than feeling,
walking along the edges of each other,
and some of us go feeling rather than flying,
when we recognize the price we pay in annealing,
coming out of our shells for each other…

Refine my heart,
show me the sky again so to impart,
a part of me above the absolute ceiling,
let the young be sprung,
assure them that we and the stars aren’t that far apart,
so we can cultivate that flying feeling,
so we can cultivate that flying feeling…
.
.
.
.
Refine my heart,
show me the sky again so to impart,
a part of me that keeps reeling,
let the young be sprung,
assure them that we and the stars aren’t that far apart,
so we can cultivate that flying feeling,
so we can cultivate that flying feeling…

"If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other"

Noah, you've been missed! You certainly have been a busy angel, my dear Lisping Hibiscus! ~ Flying here...flying there... flying everywhere!

That's a shame about that elementary  school burning down. Knowing you, you will be helpful on several levels in relocating the children to another school. I am sure this has been very upsetting to them.

Noah, I loved your poem! It made me want to start flapping my proverbial wings and flying high in the sky ~ above the madding crowd! lol

May this new quarter-century be rife with life and chock-full of joyful experiences! Enjoy the journey, me dear friend!

Love,
Linda

I liked the entire poem but especially liked these lines... reaching out to make the whole greater than the sum of the parts. Beautiful work!!

Always good to spread wings with you, Noah!

... I have been "molting" myself these days.

   Always a pleasure to read.

Noah,

I admire how you continue to seek growth.  It's one of the things that I love the most about you when I read your poetry and words leading into your poems.  You are a true renaissance man - that's wonderful and magical.

When I read your poems and songs, I know that you fly and feel.  There's no doubt in my mind that you don't carry those around you on your flights of imagination and knowledge.

Love,
Alison
