So often,
when driving my car,
words pop up in my mind.

Sometimes,

they link into a line,
a verse, a poem, a story,
but they die a silent death,

when traffic
brings me back
to reality
and kills my creativity.

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

Nice writing...me too...I scribbled a few choice words on a note pad to keep the thoughts in my memory or I keep repeating the thought over and over in my mind until I can write it down...its even happened while watching a movie...James

buy yourself a small voice recorder. You might look crazy talking to yourself alone in the car, but then your creative words and ideas can be refreshed when you have an opportunity to write them down and do something with them

I was wondering as I passed this, if I should read it or not. I am glad I finally did.

I think we have all fallen victim to the Traffic Killer.  So well written.

It's not allowed here to use any of those things (phone etc.) while driving a car. One can get a ticket up to 150 euro ($ 225).

Hi Titia, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that you are from Holland. But are you Dutch; The reason I ask is that I am very curious on why you post on an 'english' forum.
{as I do - even though I am Dutch}

of post je ook op een nederlandstalige site,

groetjes.

I'll have to incorporate them into a poem one day

Yes, Titia, I think we can all relate to this.  In my part of the world it would seem that traffic kills people more often than creative ideas.  But I guess it's like love - let it go and if it comes back then it's surely meant to be.
