my first, the essence of
a trip to my mind, casual
allowance indignation
covering my laughter.
my first, the wonder of
the souls eye, tripped up
to include how I find
ridicules the world is.
my first, slipping the
confines of childhood
to embrace her own
small step of freedom.

I really like this, Michael.  It's wonderful to feel the love and pride that you have for your daughter.

This is indeed such a significant moment, especially for fathers!
