The door ajar, the culprit in,
his shoe was chewed in places six.
A paw print here, a puddle there,
the latch would now be first to fix.

A scoundrel small of fluff and eye
did sneak between the opening,
A soulful frown and whimp'ring cry
would take from him the anger's sting.

Her thoughts transposed in artful she
To share a likened child with he
And puppy prince could do no wrong
His deeds so cute, his trail so long

And share she did…the days and nights
That knit the sweaters, calmed his frights
The two a.m. was manly made
But she stood by with cheer displayed

The thickest towels to soak his brow
Perhaps once his, in service now
A teething ring of leather strap
Perchance the founding fingers tap

Through gritted teeth surprise, un-clued
It seemed that he became unglued
This pup was cute and very shrewd
A heart was won, this fluffy dude.

A trail was laid in wag of tinkle
across the den and to the door.
It brought a frown and nose’s wrinkle
This was enough, she heard his roar.

He called the Vet about a neuter
and caught the stare of her in glare.
She took away their one computer,
no longer would she and he share.

And now the bed is warmed by one
who wears the blue jeans and long socks
The couch is where they fight in fun
as she plays and he tugs her locks.

For man’s best friend can be sweet talked
by woman’s ways....and away they walked!!!

Even the pooch gets the upper hand, errr....paw.

Well goodness me, I don't remember seeing this one before, but it must have been, and maybe even I was there to read...

but this oh so well fits my current scenario of two pups and a life.
