To keep from being needy, I've grown thorns
To keep from clutching at the first glimmer, dream, or illusion of love, I've cut off my hands

Surely my arms are poison to have driven so many away
So to undo their hideous draw, I have sown them closed

No one can hurt where they can not be
No one can hurt where they are not invited

No one will tear up the soil and salt the earth

To guard my heart, preserve my mind, and protect my soul, I've removed myself
But in my quest for security, peace and for safety

All I am, is alone

If I don't say it...who will?

Tea party at my place, you're invited.

Feel better. Great poem.

I love my dog, and my truck. It's that simple, really.
