Is there wind
before the calm?

what ever else could strengthen
mind music, then clear of thought
full of purpose
before storm clouds mount;
except hostile consent for
debate
freedom from science
its proofs and ideologies
or the want of human reason.
What to choose...

realizing that a belief
is disbelieved in railway cars
space shuttles.
all else post modern
floats on air currents
through storms, generated
elevated gusts...

holy books carried
their weight in winds
so too did dinosaur imprints
that broke from the six day
traditional time frame
causes of existence
favoring no set proofs...
one just had to find reason
in the word

the unquestioning
always around yet
scientific proof
focused beacons
from the ability to ask,
that does not question
spiritual purpose
nor expel the story teller
who rides the current
of who bore whom
who was the son or daughter

of another forefather
no ordinary person
but to some, anyone
added weight
to tales of man
that came at the end
of the week
to take charge
of all that was good

but there lay evil
because of whatever
positive element found
outside Eden's gates...
and I inherit nothing
but the wind,
its peaks gust
it ebbs, then
generates
a silence before
other creations

I could see the influence and recently watched the original version of "Inherit the Wind".
It's always nice to see a familiar name

And how are you keeping Maureen?Nice to hear from you, trying to write more often but honestly I need to think things out, random rhyme schemes don't cut it for me like before
