The jump for joy

An angel in his own right
and I bow to that tonight
but I have seen the devil
eyes ablaze and flashing ire
into the air I breathe.

Down it travelled,
down, down, down,
into the love I have
sitting quiet and silent
in the bowels a woman has.

The fight, the fight,
the twist and turn,
the need, desire, the hope,
till finally my saving grace
dead to the human race.

And in that place of death’s decay
the jump for joy in foetal pose
waits for a hand, a word,
to rise it up again
into this living world.

It waits, it waits, but sleeping so
it loses muscle, strength, and verve,
and I wonder in this lonely time
if ere again a jump for joy
will exit from the bowels
and make its presence known
to the body, mind and soul.

Time - and ‘twas as then and now
the will of Time that stirs inside
the sleeping into action!

Thank you so much TD.  The jump seems to be a long way off for me at this present time but I know to be patient.  Sometimes though the knowing and the feeling aren't on the same page.

Helen,

When you jump, I'll be reading.  This is among your best, I believe.

Thank you so much, Alison.  Perhaps the best of words results from the worst of circumstances but when the jump comes, I do believe the words and circumstances will be in line with each other.

Hugs
Helen
