The Poet
by Linda L. Dowd

With slip of sun at evening’s end
~ the poet’s mind will then transcend.
He writes the mots within his seam
~ puts pen to paper as in dream.

In stillness of the darkest nite
~ by flame of candle burning brite,
the poet sits and ponders theme
~ puts pen to paper as in dream.

From deep within his magic ink,
lies sea of notions ~ deep in think.
He writes a poem from just a gleam
~ puts pen to paper as in dream.

A poet with his thoughts in stream
~ puts pen to paper as in dream.

~ A poet's pen holds the ink of love, dreams, and sorrow ~

Linda, you certainly captured the essence of a poet both in words and graphic.  Lovely.

This is so very beautiful, my friend... I just wish the process flowed as smoothly as your words do. *S*

But... I guess my cats would miss the "toys" if I didn't hurl wadded up balls of paper across the floor. LOL

Earth Angel - Now you've gone and done it. You've taken Keats, Tennyson, Shakespeare and others and fused them into a beautiful outpouring of angelic poetry. I knew I had heard the fluttering of wings. This kind of creativity carries it own immortality. The great ones would be proud. I loved it too. Namyh

Ohhh...I don't know how you do that, Angel.  It's beautiful and my muse stirs with envy.

Hugs, Dear Heart.  I'll go to sleep dreaming...

I used to hurl wads of crumbled up paper back in the days when I wrote my poems in longhand. Now I simply 'highlight and delete"! lol

My goodness! I certainly wasn't expecting such a lofty response as yours! Your 'Words are Worth' their weight in poets' gold! By the way, that painting is of William Wordsworth! lol

With humble thanks, I deeply appreciate your enthusiastic and HIGHLY complimentary comments.

Klassy One ~

My word, Karen, YOUR muse is coveted by many poets! ~ I, being one of them! ~ but that was very kind of you to say.

In general, poets are my favourite kind of people! They are often expressive, observant, creative, philosophical, romantic, and great communicators. Hmmm! That proves that you are a poet, my talented friend!

This is quite simply magical, Angelo Terrestre! It is deeply inspiring you know. Your words are charmingly knocking at the door of creativity ... the door opens and there is that gleam you have so wonderfully woven into your poem ...

Thank you for this. Bravissima!

Love and hugs.

My dear Maga Margherita Dolphina ~

Not only is there magic in your poetry, there is magic in the replies that you write to everyone's poetry. You touch your fellow poets with your cosmic wand and Light. Thank you, my beloved friend! I've missed you while you were away.

Much love and kinship hugs,

Linda
