Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2009-10-20 12:00 PM

searching for a sight of myself
without sadness
where the madness
isn’t inches from
taking me by tears
raking me over and over
my failures and fears
grasping at straws and silver linings
I cling to the clouds
falling down on double edged swords
broken and bleeding
looking for my goddess
like a lost set of keys

I feel as though you've written me... or at least... the me of the moment. *S*

Heavy piece, Lori.  The phrase "looking for my goddess like a lost set of keys" is brilliant.  I do so hope that this poem is an emotional exploration, and not based upon yourself.  The Lori I see in your poetry is in complete and constant communication with her goddess within.  Nicely done.

Jim-My goddess has issues, some days are dark and she isn't as clear for me to see. The contrast adds depth, (I think )

lg..sometimes I just toss my keys into the dumpster and give em a day or so to see if they come back in the belly of a cat...thus no locks on my doors and no key needed to fire up the bone shaker..enjoyed your art here

Alison It is good to know when my work touches people and yet I feel I push on bruises and buttons that conjure pain,  doing little to console.~L

There was a line in the film "Shadowlands" about the life of C.S. Lewis and I quote..."I read to know that I am not alone."

Your poems elicit such visceral responses.  That is talent my friend.
