What dear reader can I do for you to entertain and please?
Can I dance out in the rain until I have to sneeze?
Can I shrink myself down to the size of a common sparrow?
And then traverse valleys small and canyons narrow.
Can I ride a unicycle while balancing  fish upon my nose?
If I don wild apparel and wear outrageous clothes?
Would you laugh at my funny way of being?
Yes, a new Bob you would indeed be seeing.
Thus, I am perplexed and do not know the answer.
I'm really just to old to become a break dancer.

If I used pancake makeup and made myself a clown?
Would I get a laugh from you and not a put down?
If I sat upon a fence with wild rabbits in my hair?
I'd get a laugh from you, now wouldn't that be fair?

What would I have to do to take your frown away.?
Well we could go to the theater and see romantic play.
All about a woman and a man who want to get together.
Who play hide and seek and wear expensive leather.

What! What dear reader can I do to please and charm?
We could laugh together, would that cause any harm?
Tell me, tell me dear reader what I have to do?
I have no staff to help me and I don't have a clue.

Nice read, GBride.  Nicely describes the difficulty of getting any feedback from some poetry fora (not applicable here, I am glad to say).  Neatly illustrates the journey from creative frustration towards the final realisation that it is what satisfies the poet within that is important, not the sensibilities of the amorphous mob.
Thank you.

Thanks Gbride for the imagination of the poem, I was sweetly surprised by the list of transformations to lure the reader, your poem works perfectly for me and I took pleasure reading it.

have  a nice day
