Where are you Jack ?
we sought for you in the house of Happy Walls,
full of details and old pictures and absent steps,
then escaping through the park towards Sonoma Mountain,
taking care of rattlesnakes and fake words
we arrived at burned and unfinished Wolf House,
we could hear the call of the wild and Martin Eden,
the kid fighting the mystery of time with his fists,
arriving finally at the Jack London Grave (a heavy stone)
my friend declared with roguish but wise irony:
Jack in the box… I keep asking “where are you Jack ?”

I feel like I'm missing something. I know there is a deeper meaning behind the words but I'm not familiar enough with the references to understand.

Are you referencing different figures/people named Jack?

The part I did understand was the Jack in a box and was amused by the play on words.

I see it now. My brain is seriously lagging because I have read The Call of the Wild and seen the movies numerous times. It was my mistake for not being more aware because you did an excellent job with the subject.

Wonderful.  I always associate Jack London with the Yukon - so I really enjoyed your perspective, yann.

dear Alison, this LOndon was extraordinary and it is not only in Yukon, he travelled all over the world and gave us wonderful prospectives of what was and what could be.I have always be impressed by his work and couldn't stop reading his books until finishing all of them...

thanks for the warm comment

regards

yann
