Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Do you love me?

“Do you love me?” she asked.
“I love you.” she replied.
“How much?” she wanted to know.
“More.” she replied.
“More than what?” she questioned on.
“More than I know. More than I have words for.
More than my heart can hold.
More than enough to last a lifetime.
Do I love you?
Yes, I do!”
She was quiet, not a question left in her head
As the answer settled in
And she realized…
“That’s just how much I love you.”
She said at last.
Her mother held her close
And softly whispered,
“I know.”

Welcome to PiP!

Your poem is wonderful--so good to hear something good said about mother-daughter relationships. This poem expressed such love that I think that my mother felt the hug!

Looking for many more of your postings here.

Thanks for the welcome, glad to finally be here...between cold feet and lead bottom, I didn't think I'd ever make it. Hope you like the rest of my menagerie of musings.

As a mother this poem really touched my heart. After 2 boys I had my little girl 7 months ago and although I love them all there is something special about the mother-daughter bond.

Lovely poem
