Learning How To Use This Site

Feel awkward, as if I'd just begun
to write poetry. But nothing could be further
from the truth. I've been writing all my life.
In fact, writing has given me a life. Or has taken
it away. The same thing, isn't it? We don't escape
our fates, who and what we are. As poets perhaps
we get there a little faster, with fewer distractions and detours.

But tonight I am awkward. I'm not sure how to talk
to you, that's the main thing. What do I say to
this new audience? I've read a poem or two and see how pure the poems are. How unaffected. How innocent, even. And I lost my innocence so very long ago. I will try to write good poems for you,
I promise. By good I mean honest poems. Poems that
say something. Anything. Anything at all.

We're all at different life stages, degrees of talent, levels of angst, etc... but all of us were new at one time... and many of us have made lasting friendships, one post at a time. *S*

I look forward to reading your work... Welcome! *S*
