Forever In Your Heart

0 posted 2009-09-28 06:08 AM

In my absence you have searched,
for me in every face, smile,
but your attempts go amiss,
deeply you miss me,

For my love burned holes,
your heart still bares the wounds,
my mark of passion, still empty,
no matter how many faces,

This morning, feels a little odd,
something about the rain pouring,
the sound of the oustside cat,
meowing in distant loneliness,

Reminds me of the loneliness I bare,
within this large heart,
void of you and your love,
no life exists in me,

You are the meaning of my existance,
for days I cannot rest without a word,
or a contact of you,
a connection must be,

Water me as I am wilting,
breath in me as I am breathless,
your sorrow of love I feel,
come, let us be one,

all our sorrows turn to joy,
together we complete the story,
love of past, present and future.
you and I....one together.

"let our sorrows turn to joy
together we complete the story"
My wife and I are old have grandchildren and even two great grandchildren. So we see love quite differently than you young people.
We live in a rural area on the wind swept plains of Nebraska. We knew each other as children, attended the same schools, had the same teachers. Our parent were neighbors.
So we were friends long before we were lovers.
My wife is sick now and the doctors cannot solve the problem. Some days she is better, some bedridden. This fact scares me a lot, I have never been without her. But I know that we will be reunited in the afterlife, so there is nothing to fear really but fear itself.
Hence I write on the internet. There are few people that live where we live, but there are many around the world accessible by the invention of the internet.
Thank you so much for your beautiful romantic poems.
For my wife and I "let our sorrows turn to joy for together we complete our story."
