This is to my brother. We shared our smiles. I wrote this at the beginning of his coke addiction. When I didn't even know it was happening.

See you so far away,
Holding memories of Yesterday.
Now you’re cold to me and the world.
You used to be like me,

So young and carefree.

What happened to that smile?
It was just like mine,
The smile you stopped smiling,
There’s no trace left of it there.

I never saw the difference.
I just saw you.
I never saw the difference everybody else knew.
Now you’re lost, that smile is forced.
It’s foreign on your face,
you're stuck in a hard place.
You used to be just like me,

So young and carefree.

I should have known,
I was smiling alone for so long.
I should have known you were already gone.

I just saw you.

Larzana.. this must have been difficult for you to write.. a love for a brother runs deep.. I hope he is on a path to recovery.

Sending you hugs from Paris

How well I understand this poem that you have written with so much heart.
