I saw a man on the side of the road
His laugh young yet his eyes were old
Held a sign, which wisdom was told
I asked his name, yes I was bold
He said take a seat, at my knees I did fold

Sitting there quietly, listening to him talk
I watched many pass, yes much like a hawk
Let the words sink in, never did I mock
Saw a Star and didn't even gawk
Ignored the glare, hated the spark

Later that day did I write
I wrote all that I knew, everything in sight
My mind was dark, he gave it light
And gave me the weapon, in which I am to fight

You see poetry
Is much more to me
Then anything could ever be
Learn humility
So maybe, one day
So my mind might be free

Those words of wisdom much more vast then the deepest sea read like priest, a saint, preaching blasphemy.

"Smile, forever smile." - Taylor K.

A dandy of a poem. Let's run it back up to the top of the page for a few more comments.
