The Bouncing tree

Mommy, Daddy,
Come see come see,
I just found
A bouncing tree,

What was that?
What did he say?
I don’t know,
He ran that way,

We followed him
As fast as we could,
Through the campground,
And into the woods,

And there he was,
Bouncing up and down,
On a big old aspen,
Laying on the ground,

The tree had fallen,
In just a way,
That the end in the air,
Was for childhood play,

Discovered in the forest,
A simple pleasure,
The bouncing tree,
His newfound treasure.

Josh went camping series

The answer is always NO, Until the question is asked.

This too is a real pleasure to read and to experience. Sorry for the fallen tree, but it is comforting to think that it still brought happiness to children.

Beautiful.

Love,
Margherita

Pure and simple pleasures are the best for memories.
Thanks, Melton.

I felt childhood excitement as we ran through the woods.

As I read this, I was reminded of a tree that had fallen in such a way as to be our "bridge" across a stream. *S* If more than one person was on it, it would "bounce"... and the pleasures we derived weren't always as innocent and pure as Josh's. LOL

Annoying cousins made good splashes! LOL

Enjoyed this very much!

Margherita,  thank you for stoping in to read another of the Josh camping series,  the tree was old and was making room for the young,  (See "The lonely Sentinals")  but Josh had a great time bouncing.  Because the tree had already lived it's life,  we put his name and year we were there, on it and I taught him not to do it to the living tree's

Thanks again,
Tracey

Lindsay,  I had a great time with him,  He made me bounce him higher and higher until he fell off, laughing all the while,  I thought he was hurt, but he just got up, climbed on and said "do it again".

Those were the days, Eh?

Thanks, My friend,
Tracey.

Ruth,  I remember the long log across the river,  some of us made it all the way, others found out how wet the river was.

thanks for your comments on the poems,

Love always,
Tracey
