Give me a pen
Paper to free my soul from
This cage its trapped in

Can't understand what gets a hold of me
What makes this poetry
Pour from me
So forgive me
It's so hard to see
Will you listen closely?

I went about it all wrong
Accordingly
All wrong
It was never a song

It was the silent drumming
The loudest signing
The softest impact.

I'm glad you have pen and paper.
We are social animals we need to be able to express ourselves and to have someone listen to us.
I do a government job: a warm body filling a slot, no one there wants my opinion.
So I write poetry.
Keep the pen going, please.
