Gold tipped sword
-(Lead drenched shield)
Silver plated Armor
-(No horse in the field)

King holds a feast
-(Cold morning, hunt for the beast)
Maidens at your call
-(Spit on yet still stand tall)

Kill a man for honor
-(Spare a man for kindness)
Eat fruits, enjoy your rest
-(Pack bares heavy on your shoulder)

Wind gently on your chest
-(Sharpen your blade for war)
Laugh and be care free
-(String your arrows, let them soar)

Walk through the town, hear them call your praise
-(Unsung hero, jesters clown on stage)
Peasants make way for such a man as you
-(Drag yourself back home, those fortified walls)

Unsung hero. What is your name?
Unsung hero. What a shame.
Red grass grows pink river flows
Blood lust rages
Sweat pores endless
Hear the clash
Feel the impact

If you are the victor
You will have no fame
Don't you see?
Death is yours to claim

"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." Oscar Wilde

I like this - I appreciate the message and appreciate that you don't jamb it down my throat.  You really do write poems that are visual - and strong in how they are structured.

Thank you, again, for sharing.

i agree nice imagery
picturesque...
vivid...as though in front of my eyes

the thing is it is not like you've been there and experienced all that
but you still are able to put it across so well
as if you pull it out from your memories..
gr8 write...glad i checked in

Thank you, I'm glad it was vivid. Took me a while to write this one.

Having a rather complicated relationship with death, I found this particularly intriguing.

Nice work.
