how to fall flat on your face
while you let the world pass on
stepping on the stones of purpose
as the edge begins to wear you down.
your second in the race of success
but your last to figure it out
as you dig into your soul completely
winding down the spirit of time and doubt.
your foolish enough to believe
that all things are made of stone
that nothing becomes the grace of romance
that nothing can wear your heart
you feel for a single moment
as your legs begin to fail again
so complete is the disappointment
of faith you rush to end.

Simple, and true.

I liked it.

Beautifully captured.
