some will get it,
some won't

some dream it,
some don't

some get it,
some don't

carpe diem

it's all you have
at any moment

*this does not mean
to ignore tomorrow
and what we leave
for the future
from our actions
each and every day

Seize the day!

~ and take care in what we do so that the actions of each day do not impinge negatively on our tomorrows.

Enjoyed your pearls of wisdom, Wise One.

Yes, so true, dear Kacy. You say it with great impact. So nice that we inspired these wise reflections and thank you for sharing them with us.

I am a dreamer, but I am also aware of the moments of now and I know it is this awareness that makes our most precious moments stretch into forever.

Love and hugs.

While you were writing this I was waiting at the girl's school upside down on the monkey bars(wanted to embarrass them       Having been this crazy since the day there were born, I heard Tori, tell Krysta, her friend, "Oh that is just my Gramma, she always does stuff like that!"

I try to be a kid every day, make sure I smile at least to one stranger, and if I have pain, I not to be one.

Yup, Carpe' Diem, and I have the necklace around my neck to remind me, bought it on Etsy.

Lovely Kacy, and we all need to get back to our inner child to find that happiness - it's there!

Thanks, Sue! I am doing better today.

LOL, Sharon...I can just see you doing that monkey business!

Margherita, thanks. It's always good to appreciate each day, even when there are moments we might want to forget.

I appreciate every day I get out of bed, my friend...no matter the time of day. Too many I know did just that, but left their bodies behind. So I give thanks every day that all of me arises...

cool write....

There's always that connection between those who "get it." You were so easy to recognize, Kacy.

(huggies) This reminds me of a mug that is placed on the right-hand side of the countertop at the Julia West House in downtown Portland, where Operation Nightwatch (a local rescue mission operation in league with the First Presbyterian Church) regularly provides services to the homeless community in the morning and late at night............which reads "Some Do, Some Don't, Some Will, Some Won't"

(sigh) I think, just like that expression, your unique take on it hints at the paradoxical crux of life..........that sometimes we truly live in the now and then we can just as quickly slip out of it, then oscillate back toward it again! Which is primarily why I'm an optimist; I believe even while many of us tend to lose sight of the present due to regrets and trauma from the past and/or wishes and hopes for the future, we are nonetheless capable of watching our thoughts and embracing being, and I believe my own experiences and growth are representative of that!

(sigh) Bless you, my friend, you speak deepest wisdom as always!

XOXO,
Lisping Hibiscus

I saw this and had to tell you about last night Kacy (and all I guess.)  I was at a big reception in the new Shangri-la Hotel in Vancouver for a book reveal by author, Peter Thomas, who is a long time friend.  Over the years we all have changed, but I remembered our earlier times at "the Cave," and different nightclubs here, and our antics afterward.

In a really serious moment of his presentation, he referred to his younger days when he was not as "on track" as he is now.  I couldn't hold it back, and started to laugh myself silly out loud from the sidelines.  He looked over, saw me, and came rushing over and gave me a "noogie" on my brand new hairdo!  I have never been able to squelch a "moment."  Heck, why should we?

Oh and if anyone is thinking of the 2010 Olympics, what a fabulous hotel this new one is - right in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

LOL, Sharon that's the perfect hello isn't it? That hotel will no doubt be booked way in advance. I'm not familiar with the writer, but seems he has a grand sense of humor.

hafrock, Hello, nice to meet you!

Just nice to know - Kacy "got it!"  She lived in the moment, therefore was not afraid to face her future.  I will sure miss her.
