Fairy In the Well
by Linda L. Dowd

While walking through the wooded dell,
I heard a cry from nearby well
What fairy said ~ as down she fell,
~ I will not tell, I will not tell...

On rim of well, there sat a crow.
It asked me to peer down below
As gentle breeze began to blow
~ I saw a glow, I saw a glow...

I lowered bucket ~ “Help is nigh!”
With great relief, she breathed a sigh.
As sun burst through the brooding sky
~ We waved goodbye, we waved goodbye...

While walking through the wooded dell,
I heard a cry from nearby well
What fairy said ~ as down she fell,
~ I will not tell, I will not tell...

Did you wash her mouth out with soap after you brought her up in the bucket.  What's she doing playing near wells anyway - and why couldn't she fly out? I think it was a con set up with the crow.  Did you give them money, pledge to their 'good cause', take them for rides in your car?  Hang on to your pin numbers, not all fairies are good, you know.

I loved this poem - can you tell?

Love,
Alison

Natasha (Tasha) is sitting here, and said, "Oh she is good can you buy me her book Gramma?" LOL, there you go, better write a book.  You are also a hit with the young ones Linda.  That was so cute.

Sharon,  Linda is very good; but that fairy? Oh!  She is so naughty.  She said bad words, she played by the well, she took candy from strangers (you know Linda gave her some so she wouldn't cry!).

Tell Tasha that fairy is a very bad example of good.

Love,
Alison

Enchanting and mysterious, you leave the reader to guess and it is a funny play. How nice of the crow to tell, that she fell into the well ... well, you are soooooooo good, dear Angelo Terrestre, the book will never come out too early!

Enjoyed this much and this form is lovely.

Love and hugs.

Adorable Alison ~
Pray tell! I could never wash a fairy's mouth out with soap! For one thing, if she happened to be one of the 'bad' fairies, she could cast a spell and toss me into the well!
She wasn't able to fly out of the well because she damaged her wing. When I rescued her, I performed Reiki on her and she was able to flit back to her home in a bower of flowers.
I believe her to be one of the good fairies ~ in spite of what she said as she fell in the well.

Love & Fairy Light,
Linder Lou

Adorable Alison ~

Tasha must know that the fairy truly is a good fairy who happened to say a naughty thing. She was quite contrite and regretted uttering a profanity. It is important for Tasha to know this.

Alison, I do believe that you must be part fairy! I loved the poem that you just posted "Sleep-Time Lullaby".

~ and yes, Alison, I did give her some candy! Candy that I made myself from honey clover.

Maga Margherita Dolphina la Senorita que Bonita ~

Hello, my dear Mar-phina. The crow was a very friendly and caring avian creature! He saved the fairy's life by showing me where to look for her. Fortunately the story had a happy ending!

All's well that ends well
~ by the fairy well.

lindy

you must know what my take on this fairy~tale is

I see her as a very good fairy that did bust her wing, but had fellow fairies to lift her out of the well

my fairy didn't say bad words

and was very glad for a happy ending

if it's okay with you, I will keep it this way in my mind

this is fun, whimsical, beautiful writing

love you

Brown-eyed Beauty ~

O' Shellie, dear Shellie, I like your take on the story!

I'm delighted that you found it fun and whimsical. We need more of that in our busy, demanding, rush-rush lives.

Fairy, fairy, Tipperary!

Love you 2,
Lindy

Dear Linda, I hope that fairy has not been listening to Billy Connelly on the Telly

lately and repeating any of that foul language. A lovely fairy tale my dear.
Love you.

I stand corrected and beg the lovely little fairy's forgiveness.  Also, please ask her, Linda, to back off on the slander suit.

To my friend from the Land of Aus ~

Hi, LPW. No, I highly doubt that she has been listening to Billy Connolly. Her words weren't profane ~ just a tad bit naughty.

That Billy is quite a colourful chap! Oh, my! But he is hysterically funny ~ and more than a tad irreverent! lol

Love you too!

Adorable Alison ~

You won't believe it! Florella (that's the fair fairy's name) just flitted to my open casement window. I told her that you ask her forgiveness and she said that there was nothing to forgive. Besides, she said, she could detect some fairyness in you and she asked me to give you this flower ~ ((*)).

All's well with Ali-well.

We both send our love and kisses!

I believe in fairies....I believe in fairies....I believe in fairies!

LOL... she must have washed the fairy dust off her wings when she went in, and it's a funny thing when a fairy loses her poise, you can't understand a word, but you know exactly what they are thinking!

I think you should add a verse about sending her home in a bower of flowers.  It's perfect, though, and I know you were one to tell fairy tales off the top of your head to your daughter.  I'll bet you could publish a children's book!

Loved this, Linda. Entirely cute.

Klassy One ~

Good morning, Karen! It is always a pleasure when you drop by! It's a shame we cannot have some fairy chit chat over a pot of honey clover tea.

Thank you for your suggestion. I think I will make this into a much longer poem for that "book"! lol

Love you!
