~*~

Peach colored clouds
swept across the sky
like a veil of chiffon,
soft and beautiful
in their sheerness I felt your presence.

A twinkling of stars lit up my eyes
the shadow of your smile
billowed my heart
each beat welled with tears
that fell on the sandy shoreline.

A loon cries in the distance
echoes of the past
skim the surface.
Like the rise and fall of tides
are ever present
wading through cherished memories
hold us close in a warm embrace.

The quiet whisper of wind
serves as your shoulder I lean on
reminding me
that love runs deep and never dies
it remains
timeless and true.

Like the sweep of clouds
and twinkling stars
I feel you everywhere.
In the warm rays of sun
and the glow of moon beams.
Your spirit is eternal
as the sunsetting sky.

~*~

a most fine, emotive 'write' with grand imagery!

I am especially fond of:

"A loon cries in the distance
  echoes of the past
  skim the surface."

MUCH applause for this 'penning' !!

I know there's a period in the middle of these, but these lines were my favorite...
"echoes of the past
skim the surface.
Like the rise and fall of tides"

Mucho ejoyed walking with you, my friend.

Bluesy - you do write a bluesy poem, and I like it. Very deep as one reads it into ones depths...

Bluesy sweetie, it does my heart good to read your words again.  This m'dear is poetically polished perfection. No one writes these scenes and longing, quite the way that you do hon.  So glad I stopped by today.  Hugs ~D

Lovely impressions of love and loss, I am sure many of us identify with. This reminded me of a poem I once wrote ... I feel the love dear ((hugs)) ~tera

Bluesy - wonder what lives in your softness of a heart, as you write these touching lines...
