Dear Jeep,

I resurrected you
from an old woman with weak elbows and knees
replaced your hips with stronger metal ones
cut away the appendix causing you pain

I lifted you up
that people may always see you,
that you may overcome any obstacle
and never once be deterred.

I gave you new hands, new feet
that you may walk tall, and grab hard
that you may pull vehicles less determined
from the snowy drifts and ditches of sorrow

I gave your bones new strength,
painted your muscle with new skin
rerouted and improved your veins
and tuned your determined heart.

Dear Jeep,
I gave you everything I had
from the void of my wallet
to the strain of my hands
Please give back to me.

Love,
Paul

P.S. Please stop leaking coolant.

Dear Paul, this is fantastic, in gratitude your Jeep will stop leaking coolant ...

As I also talk to my little Citroen Saxo, I understand you so well. You really brought it (him/her?) to new life!

Great!

Love,
Margherita

Thanks Margopargo! I am going to try to get a picture of me and the completed, mysterious coolant leaking jeep soon, and post it with the next jeep poem.

Loved this one, my fellow ulfsark.

I used to live for my job operating, refurbishing, and repainting old steam engines. I once fired the Sir Nigel Gresley from Bewdley to Bridgenorth.

Remaking something beautiful is a wonderful feeling.

ps. I now have an ornate depiction of mjolnir tattooed on the back of my neck. Expensive, but worth it.

When I went to Spain this year a man came up to me and started talking excitedly. I couldn't make out a word he was saying until he mimed the loss of an eye and pointed to his shoulders where two ravens should be.

'Wailing voices on the wind, urging me to turn. Distant tortured screams. Cold blue fires burn'.

Oh how clever of you and your jeep.
If it only knew you wrote a poem in it's honor,
guess that wouldn't plug the leak
but it sure makes for fun reading.

Great stuff, metal man~

Dear Jeep,

Please be kind to Paul. He comes across tough, but his heart is sensitive.  When he loves, he loves (we can see that) and he loves you already.  Please be true to him and never stray when he needs you most.  Dear, Jeep, be proud of and remember that beauty is only skin deep ... if you find your skin scraped or your bones bruised, stay true and be proud.

Your friend,
Alison

PS -  Please stop leaking coolant.

Susan, thanks. I'll be sure to do so.

Alaboo, I'll print it off and read it to the jeep. I'm sure it will like that. It will get plenty scraped. I'm thinking about repainting it soon.
