Silence of the hallowed halls;
...frostless chill of marbled walls,
She sits above with vacant gaze,
...cloaked in absolution,
Springs forth to life from dusty tomes,
...as judge's gavel falls,
As Mercy falls down to her knees,
...before honed sword of retribution.
Within deep bowels of her cathedral,
...cry out the ghosts of victims past,
Locked within the binds of terror,
...from the evils they are fleeing,
Clanging doors of cellblock runs,
...left behind dark shadows cast,
My trust to her now long since given,
...I cede to her my being.
