Artwork by Agnes D. Olson.

O winter goddess, deathly fair,
The song of arrows, thine,
Thy eyes of ice, thy golden hair,
Thy fragrant scent of pine.

O maid of wolves and mountain slopes,
Thy beauty stark and white,
Thou nurse a secret lover's hopes
Of Baldr, god of light.

O giant's child of Jotunn blood,
Thy father lies in earth,
So hammer iron, fletch the wood,
And sing the Aesir's dearth!

'Wailing voices on the wind, urging me to turn. Distant tortured screams. Cold blue fires burn'.

Luke,

I enjoy reading your poetry for the content and I admire it for the structure.

A fine Nordic ode! "Eyes of ice", indeed! ~ Captivating artwork that complements your compelling poem beautifully! Great writing, dear writer!

Love 'n hugs,

very well written ...

and timely,of course, from the perspective of the N. hemisphere's
current position in the endless cycling of seasons in "Deep-Time" ...

MUCH applause for this interesting 'penning' !!
