Just not today...

Don't ask peace of me
Just not today...
Don't ask hope of me
Just not today...
Don't seek no wisdom
from a broken man
If you can't move on,
I sure can.

Don't ask of me
To be a mountain
Not without her...
Don't ask of me
To carry the world
Not without her...
Don't seek strength
From a broken man,
When in my own strength
I ain't too sure.

I know I told you
Whenever you'd call
I'd be there to break your fall
To lend you a hand,
To help you stand,
To make you believe
That it's gonna be okay.
To wipe your tears,
Chase away your fears
But I just can't
Just not today
You're just gonna have to
Find your own way.

A very bittersweet write. Being broken can be a tough experience. Hopefully in time, pieces will begin to come together and you will be whole once again.

Welcome to Pip!
I'm sure you'll love it here

Wow thank you so much. I've just registered today over here, and I have SO MANY poems to share, but the limit on post number is kinda annoying, but aight, tomorrow morning I will post more. I'm just so glad that such an active and experienced member appreciates my work.
