"The mini-van was facing South."
It didn't match the way his stout
body was aligned, the street
points to East-south-east, no how
and oh we needed something to
chew upon, we dawgs have few
dramas written out as these--
and so we quibbled on Mike's feet.

Were they West? Or did she lie?
(You know she's known to have imbibed)
So can we trust the point of view?
Did she have a beer or a two?
"I heard her nerves were frayed to raw.."
(And so were her's, the second frau...)

the one who second'd it. I sighed
and raised my hand
in discomfit
and told them all, "I don't like this."

Six cop cars, no ambulance
an undercover narc squad, it
gave the neighbors con-ip-shits
FORGET ABOUT THE KIDS.

A big distraction for July
the whisper game that whispered lies:
We're all the same--we're hypnotized--
I hate that I am here, inside,

I despise my windows, I
placed a film to hide my eyes

from the truth of it, the lies

tell themselves, it seems.
