Contentment is a word which carries
Ease of mind through thoughts that smile
Because your day forgot to worry
And that trial did rest a while

Today I feel contented way
And really I do not know why
It might be nature, bright and sunny
Or my dreams that get me by

It just might be that I can rest
Not have to work this day or night
That people smiled and gave me hope
That in my world most things are right

I think contentment comes with age
From walking on life’s road and ways
From feelings of both good and bad
From odd events that fill our days

I feel content; it might not last
But nice to know it finds me here
I’ll sit with pleasure for this while
Enjoying, as it holds me near

Rick - I agree with the Bluesy One..

I think contentment comes with age
From walking on life’s road and ways
From feelings of both good and bad
From odd events that fill our days

I feel content; it might not last
But nice to know it finds me here
I’ll sit with pleasure for this while
Enjoying, as it holds me near

I found contentment does come with age, and so does peacefulness. But dang, with age I'm finding I can't do all the things I once did...

I love the serene meditation feel to this work of yours.
It also works as a prayer of gratitude.
So beautifully written, dear Rick.

Thank you.

Love,
