I treasure little hands and feet
The smallest hearts and minds
The absence of intention
And sweet moments left behind

I like the natural way of things
An unexpected snow
The way the waters carve the drifts
Of whiteness as they flow

I like unspoken words engraved
Across a child’s face
I like the plain humility
Of unassuming grace

I like the hush of snowy gusts
That spin across the ground
I find a newborn’s shallow breath
Both wondrous and profound

"I like the plain humility
Of unassuming grace"

I read this and wondered if you could not see yourself in these lines.

You are a fine wine, Mz Liz.

Oh, dear Elizabeth, I couldn't agree more with your most graceful song of praise here. Just saw a newborn the other day and as you say so beautifully, I stood in wonderment too.

Enjoyed this deeply.

Love,
Margherita

You touched upon everything that is innocent of the youth. Wonderful and poetic.

Dear Liz, you are a wonderful poet for that
beautiful poem really touches the heart

strings. I read it several times and enjoyed it more each time. Thank you, love.

I like how you write and I like how you capture the most simple things in the most beautiful way.
