The gate creeks rusty on its hinges
As I pass through
The bower where in rosy clusters
Wild roses climb old walls now decked with vine
Tall grasses, tangleweed and ivy
Conceal the lovely flowers
I once knew

A moss grown pool
Where water-lilies blossomed
Tousled weeds with honeysuckle intertwine
A cool wind passes through the garden
Rustling dry leaves from the cherry tree
Mingling with ghosts of many voices
That echo on my heartstrings poignantly....

Dear Katriona, I entered this magical garden with you and enjoyed it deeply. You painted it with enchanting vividness and it became a real experience.

Simply wonderful! A place where Nature gains space ...

Love and hugs,
Margherita

For some reason, that picture goes perfectly with this beautiful poem.

SAVED   Oh, Katriona, this is superbly magical! I once had a secret garden, as well. But, alsa, it was unceremoniously bull-dozed to the ground.

Your poetry ALWAYS touches me deeply. I lost my secret garden when I was but a teen. Since then, I have found some special places in a forest ~ but they too got torn down. Well, at least I have a secret garden in my heart and no one can tear that one down!

Thank you for another exquisite penning!

I wore the book "The Secret Garden" out when I was a little girl.  I loved the story and the thought of discovering a garden - a secret.

Wonderful poem.

Dear Katriona, you have written some beautiful words to add to that lovely

picture. I love roses, especcially climbing roses, in fact climbers of all sorts.
Love to you my friend.
