Hair of Brown w/Shades of Gray (for Bill)

There into the mist,
I am walking a path
through hazel eyes,
that see beyond
the headstones
of memories.

Under the moonlit night
lays a healed heart
in bed with a dream
yet untitled,
though in scribbled form
releasing naked thoughts.

Those that press
beyond the morning
facing temptation's hold,
still  fighting
to keep it
between the lines~~

M, your Naked Thoughts for Bill (smiling here) are absolutely gorgeous!

In fact, if Bill (and you, of course) doesn't mind (smiling again), I'd like to save this beauty. It struck a strident chord in my own heart and I also appreciate its poetic beauty.

Bill's poetry is often a source of inspiration for others. This inspired one is exceptional!

Wow, dear Maureen, what a joy to read a romantic poem by you and such a refined one!

This is a joy to read and beautifully done! Such a sweet gift for Bill.

Love and hugs.

Thank you both. Bill and I have been friends for a long time and have met in real. Sometimes he sends me phrases and challenges me to use them in a  poem... this was one.

But I could not fit hair of brown in unless as a title with my shades of graying which I thought might bring a smile~~

Maureen, that is wonderful that you and Bill have had the opportunity to actually meet in person. Over my years at pip (Actually, I just noticed today that yesterday marked my 7th year), I have developed a few friendships along the way but I have not met anyone vis a vis ~ face to face. My chance to meet some of them (at least on terra firman! ) has gone forever...Marge and Seymour, in particular, whom you, I believe, have met.

for me ... the beginning of this 'write' is especially fine:

"There into the mist,
  I am walking a path
  through hazel eyes,
  that see beyond
  the headstones
  of memories"

serious applause for this 'penning' !

Thanks Bruce, I hope you are doing well~~

Linda, yes I met Marge, Seymour and Lyra also in Florida...an absolutely fun and wonderful time.

I someday would love to visit Canada...I know it is a beautiful country and must  have many inspiring locations for writing poetry.

Thank you Kacy, I have a feeling most of those good lines were the ones Bill sent me to use .

Thanks Sue, I appreciate your replies.

A very lovely poem inspired by another. Very often the best ones come out of what stirs one's heart.

Bill, as always I love when you inspire me. Besides it's fun to write to your words.

Lori, Bill always knows how to send phrases my way to get me writing.  It's more interesting than my real life thoughts. and thanks

Heart2Heart, thank you for your kind response... You should  read Bill's take on the same phrases, same title different Grey
