State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2009-08-23 11:42 PM

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted anything. Actually it's been a while since I've actually written anything, but tonight I found out that one of my best friends lost their brother and I, in my own way, wanted to try and ease their pain. This was written with many tears shed as I remembered the loss of my parents, but it was also written with a few smiles as I remembered the fun things that "Pops" and I did together. I hope this poem finds you all in good health and great spirit. God bless you all.

What do you say to someone that just lost a friend?
How can you make that endless pain end?
How do you say it will all be ok?
That the pain will subside a little each day?

No one can describe the pain that you feel
Never have and probablt never will
But I can tell you this much is true
The pain will subside the tears will be few

In time it will get easier believe me I know
I lost both my parents a few years ago
I still cry for them on those special days
And try to remember the good times and their special ways

I know it seems the pain will never end
But trust and believe you will smile again
When you look back at the memory of life
Remember the fun stuff and the good times in life

Jeffrey, welcome home! ~ albeit under very sad circumstances. A poet is a poet ~ even when he has put his pen down for awhile. A poet never loses the ability to express his/herself ~ as you have proved with this deeply heartfelt write.

My sympathies to your friend and his family ~ and to you as well.

Having lost your parents, you understand the kind of pain that your friend is experiencing and that time truly does have a way of healing ~ but not forgetting. I lost my parents 4 weeks apart at this time 3 years ago. Your poem had special meaning for me as well.

Giving you a warm, welcome-back hug,

EA

Thanks, I lost my parents 10 months apart 5 years ago this past august 14th .... I miss them terribly, but time has healed the pain somewhat .... as I said I still cry for them on those"special" days, but I have found the tears to be fewer over the years.

touching.

Wonderful healing thoughts you've penned Jeffrey. Good timing for me as I lost my mom less than a month ago and am working through the heartache. This was a lovely and very welcome piece to read today. Thank you for this.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit
