See the sunset deep and peaceful
Stealing o'er the weary day
While the passing silver cloudlets
Homeward drift upon their way

See the little woodland flowers
Under twilight's drowsy spell
When every ancient moss grown bower
An old bewitching tale can tell

See the waves in rhythm flowing
Lapping in the wind's caress
While the slumb'ring trees keep vigil
In evenings's splendid ruby dress

See the gentle willows swaying
Branches rustling to and fro
As the waves against the molo
Ceaseless dance in wondrous flow

Soon these marvels of creation
Closing down for nightfall's rest
Gather strength for morning's promise
Nature at her radiant best

Thank you Roniece.  A pity the image disappeared, it is one of the most wonderful sunsets I have ever seen. The picture was taken on July 4th and submitted by a good friend of mine who stays in Maine to a weekly photography competition and I wrote the poem as a thank you and praise of his beautiful capture.

I loved the poem so much, that I was doubly disappointed that the image did not show up! So, I looked at your link and discovered that you had added an s to the http! Now you can post the pic and all will be happy!

Love to you, dear Katriona!

Oh thank you so much Linda, I would never have been able to find out what I had done wrong, that little "s" must have sneaked in there somehow while I was posting the picture. And thanks also for your always kind and cheerful words
